Because of my  interest in art I like to scour the Internet for online portfolios of comic, sci-fi and fantasy artists. One of my favorites is that of Kelly Hamilton out of Arizona.
Hamilton's art, shown above,  is colored a lot like an animation cell and the artist has worked in animation and game design.
Wonderful stuff, really.  It's so lush and alive. Hamilton's work reminds me a lot of Don Bluth-style animation. I even used one of Hamilton's pieces to add to the "avatar cache"  for CaptainComics.Us.
