I am a huge fan of the JLI period in the Justice League. In fact its those very comics that lead me to the DC Universe in the first place.
Those comics proved to me how diverse a superhero comic could be. To this day, I would have to say that Blue Beetle is my favorite DC superhero, probably because he reminds me most of myself.
I am not offended by Beetle or Booster's second/third tier status. In fact I embrace it.
Admittedly, those issues (say 1-40 of the Justice League/Justice League International/Justice League America/Justice League Quarterly) probably don't do a lot for hard-core Justice League fans, but they make for a GREAT introduction to the hobby.
My one wish now is that the "Formerly Known as the Justice League" group was awarded with the team name of "Super Friends."
I think that's a suitable place for that team in the DC Universe.
