I was just at Wal-mart and saw they're carrying three comic book titles. Unfortunately, they're just NBA promo comics and it doesn't look like they've sold a single one.
They each cost $3.95 and are drawn in typical comic book styles, not anime. I didn't recognize any of the contributors.
If I remember the titles they were: The Guardians no. 1, Hardcourt Heroes no. 1 and some other title that refers to a basketball player position.
Each title seemed to feature about five NBA stars and they all wore similar looking jump suits of different colors.
They also appeared to be fighting super villains.
If we could get Wal-Mart to actually carry good comics! (Not counting the Archie Digests or Disney's Comic Zone, mind you!)
I also recently noticed that my local Target store is carrying the slightly over-sized Marvel Age, and it did seem to be selling well.
