Second bananas that are worth a damn
Someone asked me "Who's your favorite second banana in comics?"
My answer:
I'm kinda partial to USAgent. He's a bit of a tortured soul and quite interesting. He had personality. It was a nasty personality, mind you. I especially liked his use in West Coast Avengers.
Also, if you've never picked them up, the "War Machine" series from the 1990s wasn't all that bad. A good find in the discount bins!
